Abstract
Practically in Senior High School, English is toward integratedly. English skills and
English component are presented in integrated. However, each skill and component
needs to be given attention. Regarding learning to read, grade VII students at SMA
Negeri 2 Pringsewu have difficulty learning to read and understand its meaning.
One of the applications that can be used in learning to read is the Microsoft team
application.. In this application the students feel enjoy and comfortable without
having burden in learning English. Through this Microsoft teams application, the
students find it easier to understand and memorize material that have been taught.
This study used pre- experimental design in the fotrm of one group pretest- posttest
design using quantitative approach. In pre-test and post-test group the observation
do two times, before giving treatment called pre-test and after giving treatment
called post-test. this study attempted to answer the following research question:1.Is
ThereEffectiveness Microsoft Teams Application on Students reading achievement
? In carrying this research, the researcher formulated the objectives of the study as
follow: 1.To Know Is There Effectiveness of Using The Microsoft Teams
Application on Students reading achievement . Research method: (1) The research
design is pre experimental design with quantitative approach, (2) The population of
this research were all students of twelve grade at SMA Negeri 2 Pringsewu (3) The
sample was XII MIPA 3 class consisting of 23 students, (4) The research
instrument used in this research was test and the data collected through test was
analyzed using T-test formula.
The results showed that the average difference in students' reading scores before
being taught using the Microsoft Teams application was 63.86. While the average
value of students' reading ability after being taught using the Microsoft Teams
application is 76.30. The result of calculating the score with the t -test shows that
tcount (7,700) > ttable (2,074),The findings show that t he Microsoft team
application is effective in teaching reading because it can improve students' English
reading mastery. so, it is suggested that the school may facilitate the teacher in
implementing Microsoft teams applicationin teaching reading process
