Abstract
This research aims to describe the teachers performance to maintan students enthusiasm
about learning English in online condition at SMK Ma’arif Banyumas. The subject of this
research is the English teacher of SMK Ma’arif Banyumas. This research was conducted
from March to August 2021.
The research method used is a descriptive qualitative. This research used data interviews,
questionnaires, and observations. In data interviews has two teachers and the data
questionnaires has twenty six respondents.
The results of this study indicate that the performance of English teacher at SMK Ma'arif is
starting online learning on time, then using media and sources to support learning, using
learning methods, carrying out learning evaluations to determine students' abilities and
success rates in teaching, and providing remedial opportunities for students who have not
completed its value. Then related to student enthusiasm during online learning is only some
students are actively responding in online learning activities. Then for students' awareness in
learning is also low, students often pile up assignments from all teachers, so that they
complain of being bored. In addition, the concentration of students in participating online
learning activities is low. Actually the teacher's performance is quite good, the teacher always
tries to keep students enthusiastic in learning, but the students are difficult to manage. Even
so, a teacher still has to be able to improve his competence better.
